So far, it's been only 2 weeks since school started. And of all days, I had to fall sick a few days before my birthday. And thus having to avoid eating any of my birthday cakes :(
But thank you everyone for the birthday wishes :) Whether through PM or FB or group chats or in person, thank you! Really appreciate the wishes :') And special mention to ma best friends Charlene and Fangning <3 for meeting up with me for a birthday lunch and celebrating for me and giving me a helium balloon (which made many people frustrated on the bus/mrt cos they kept getting whacked hehe sorry!) which I've always wanted since idk when haha, and my beloved OG Yenite for specially celebrating for me during bash and giving me cupcakes and a card <3, and of course my own OG Pueblo for celebrating for me during lecture <3 thanks everyone for making my day a special one ^^
And today, a day after my birthday, I'm down with fever, a bad sore throat and cough :(( feel so sick but gotta chiong and finish doing all my work //

The end of summer
Here's a final post to cap off the summer holidays :(
Well, so many things to thank God for. It's not been easy, it's not all been smooth-sailing, but I'm thankful I went through it. Been through many official ogl meetings, individual yenite and marion ogl meetings, 4 dry runs, 2 major camps FOC and FOW, and 1 ecamp, and now I'm missing it all.
There were so many things I haven't done in a long time until this summer - painting bandannas, teaching and doing the cup cheer/cup song games, drawing OG symbols (basically all the arty stuff HAHA), thinking of and leading cheers, bathing in freezing cold showers, watching live fireworks and airshow etc.
And so many firsts this summer - going out on ecamp (or going alone overseas for that matter) without my family, learning to step out of my comfort zone and be in a team without anyone I know in ecamp, witnessed the need to push the van up the mountain HAHA, getting to be both a xodian and a basemaster (although being a xodian was waaaay more fun), getting the chance to care for so many freshies' welfare and so much more.
And I actually got used to sleeping on the floor after so many nights spent in school. Haha.
Just wanna talk a bit more about each individual segment of my summer ||
4 dry runs - Even though every one of them was physically exhausting and draining because of the packed schedule, squeezing 4 days of activities into 2 or 3 days, but I'm thankful for them because I got the chance to get to know more seniors whom I've never talked to (or even knew their names!) before, be it those in my dry run OG or gamemasters. And also, these dry runs gave us seniors a chance to play (and be the guinea pig for) the games that the juniors would soon play in foc/fow, which I like cos I like to participate in games hehe. Esp the mass games during dry run 1, when I actually experienced the terror of hearing bells chasing after me haha but sadly not in the real foc. But having to go to Haw Par Villa 3 times?! Was a pain but the bonding between seniors made it somewhat worth it.
Yenite OGL meetings - We actually met up a lot. Remembered how our first meeting was at Kallang Wave Mall, where we were kayaking and having fun haha. But after that came the busy period where we had to brainstorm for cheers, settle a whole lot of admin stuff, go out to buy identities and then realise we had trouble writing on the metal cups (our identities), where we painstakingly wrote in paint marker on the cups before realising the paint came off :( Then came the resolution that we had to use spray paint - where we took a lot of time in creating the stencils and then spray painting on a circular surface :) but glad we accomplished it together. Although there were times when we disagreed on certain stuff, but glad that we talked through it and supported each other in the end :)
FOC - Couldn't be more thankful for yenite. From the start, the 3 of us ogls never made it an expectation that they must win. Winning for us was just the icing on the cake, but helping the OG bond (and now become overly attached haha) was our main goal. From day 1 of awkwardness progressed to a night where they htht-ed without any of us ogls, to day 4 where I witnessed firsthand as a xodian how they gave it their all and fearlessly played in the war games. And pulled out my peg when I was trying to attack another OG's member. Haha. But getting to be a xodian made me so happy. Haha cos of HvZ memories but being able to attack other OGs who targeted yenite also was an advantage. Made me so shagged out and filled with battle scars after the camp, but all worthwhile. But honestly love them <3
Ecamp - This year's ecamp, like last year's, was sandwiched between camps for me. FOC just ended and I attended a dry run just a day before I was to leave for ecamp. But this experience was way different and everyone was just so united as one (even though we were in separate teams) sharing the gospel to kids in the campuses. Broke down in tears a few times during this ecamp. But really thankful for God's grace, compassion and strength given to me throughout the campaign, and His faithfulness. Would never trade anything for this. This camp also left me to ponder about many things :)
FOW - Last but not the least, fow. After 6 camps, I was naturally quite tired coming into this camp. But I really wanted the OGMs, especially those who didn't go for FOC, to have a good first experience of an uni camp so I gave my best. Was quite hard to coordinate and manage the OG because the raggers having to leave early or halfway but still thankful for the raggers being so sporting and willing to join in for supper and HTHT. The OG being so small sometimes, we as ogls had to participate and it was nice joining in for dodgeball although I'm terrible at it haha. And being a base master at the worst location ever HAHA couldn't see a single bit of action in the second round of war games. But at least got a taste of the boring life of a base master haha.
AND FLAG DAY. Honestly it really humbles you to have to open your mouth and ask for donations, and I thought it was a really good experience once again. Reminds me not to ignore people who ask for donations from now on!
But thanks Mars for being such a sporting and sweet OG! Even though we didn't win, it really didn't matter :) Because I had fun with you guys and I hoped all of y'all had fun too :)
So much that I went through this summer. But thank You Lord for Your strength and grace. With You, I made it through! :)

Ecamp Cebu: Team Unashamed
So glad I made the decision to go for this ecamp once again :') Never once regretted after I went. Every year the experience is different, but one thing I always thank God for: His presence and grace through it all.
This year we covered northern parts of Cebu, unlike last year when we tried to cover north and south Cebu within the same week. So we travelled up to Bogo again, and stopped at the same church Grace Danao Fellowship as last year. Had a great time worshipping and fellowshipping with the locals there, who have just such a great heart for God and people.
Each day was much tougher than last year, especially the first day when I almost lost my voice. Spent 2 days up in the mountains, but I'll never forget the second day when we went up the mountains with Pastor Mike. Best and most unforgettable mountain van ride ever, so entertaining until all of us forgot our carsickness. We also had to disembark once to push the van up a steep slope HAHA.
The other days were great too, tiring but ultimately fulfilling. The kids' childlike faith made all the difference. Love them. Thank God for every moment I got to experience His enabling power and grace <3
Miss the whole experience already but I'll definitely be back, for more weeks next time hopefully :)

#PHARMINVICTUS15
Shagged but left with awesome memories of yet another awesome camp. Remembered how just one year ago, I was a participant of last year's Pharmacy Threnodia camp and I loved it. 1 year later, I decided to become an ogl to help the freshies create awesome memories of their FOC.
YENITE | Immensely proud of them <3 Remembered how during our meetings, the 3 yenite ogls set a main goal of making them bonded and I really hope that they stay bonded :) The three of us were so surprised and happy when they initiated their own night bonding games and HTHTs, stepping up to initiate and lead the team in games, and open up to one another. We were so glad that we were more than happy to stay out of their circle during HTHT to let them continue to initiate HAHA.
Plus they looked a bit disheartened at the end of day 1 and 2, by looking at the scoreboard and seeing they were last and had ''no hope of winning''. But on day 4, during WWX, I witnessed firsthand how they gave it their all and never backed down. They were so on fire that other teams targeted and used their powers on them, but they continued to power ahead. Seeing how other teams targeted them broke my heart, but I'm glad that they never gave up and stayed together. AND IN THE END? WE WON. Totally unexpected of a LAST PLACED TEAM. But the never giving up spirit made us a WINNER. Can't wait for staycation!!!!!
XODIANS | So so so so glad that I could be a xodian despite being an ogl. Remembered how last year, the highlight of the camp to me was the HvZ mass games, where my game mode was on HAHA but I thoroughly enjoyed it, hiding in the bushes and running for the ENTIRE DAY, collecting pills and ripping off pegs.
This year was less of OG vs OG, but more of OGs vs Seniors. And I find it funny how they were so nice to each other during the OG vs OG segment, but showed no mercy and attacked us seniors without backing down. No mercy towards a girl also haha.
Got cornered, pinned to a wall, surrounded by an entire OG trying to rip off my pegs, chased, pulled to the ground many times, shot at by 2 OGs, and now filled with many battle scars and injuries but no regrets. It's like reliving my HvZ memories HAHAHA.
Hope no freshie bears any grudges of me ripping off their peg, cos I hope they realise that xodians are outnumbered like 1:4, so we have to defend ourselves also HAHA but really hope all the freshies enjoyed themselves :)

Song of the day
What Love is this // Kari Jobe
You never change, You are the God You say You are
When I'm afraid, You come and still my beating heart
You stay the same when hope is just a distant thought
You take my pain, and You lead me to the cross
Just love this song <3 really lifts my eyes up to see what a strong and unchanging God we have.

Outgoing introvert
HAHAHAHA so I just read on Facebook something my friend shared. Something about Outgoing Introvert. And I'm definitely one of them hahaha.
Can't believe that there's such a thing haha. Seriously hilarious but pretty true. Especially about the part where social events are either a hit or a miss, cos our energy levels depends on our environment. Quite entertaining article HAHAHA

Starting the year right | Thanksgiving
Recently just dug out all the handwritten letters/notes/cards/photos that friends and family gave to me over the years, even one from way back in 2002! 😱
Amazed that I've kept all of them until now haha. But was really so encouraged and touched by some of the heartfelt words and encouragement in those letters, some to comfort me after my grandma's passing 2 years ago, some to encourage me after a bad result in an exam, many parting words from graduation, or birthday cards and messages. And even this I'm surprised, I kept every single post-it letter from every single youth camp, from Beyond Infinity to Mission Impossible to Camp Unstoppable to Camp Conquest. Brings back so many great memories from youth camp, always my favorite camp every year. Thankful for every single leader that I served alongside, and every single member I talked to, because each of you are the reason why I came back as a camper every year (and last year as likely my last time as a camper sadly) cos I love being around y'all.
Wanna start off this year thanking God for each and every person in my life! You have been a blessing to me in some way or another, whether through your notes to me, your words of encouragement spoken to me (in person or over the phone), or simply your presence! Thank you! :)
I come before You today
And there's just one thing that I want to say
Thank You Lord
For all You've done in my life
For all the blessings that I cannot see
Thank You Lord
With a grateful heart
With a song of praise
With an outstretched arm
I will bless Your name
Thank You Lord
I just want to thank You Lord
Thank You Lord
I just want to thank You Lord
